Question : Mission Parivar Vikas

Will the Minister of HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE be pleased to state:

(a) whether the Government has launched Mission Parivar Vikas for improving family planning services in the country;

(b) if so, the details of the scheme and the time by which the above scheme is likely to be implemented;

(c) whether it is proposed to involve private sector for dispensing family planning services in poor performing States;

(d) if so, the details thereof; and

(e) if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) & (b): Yes, the Government has launched Mission Parivar Vikas in 145 high fertility districts in the states of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Assam for improving access to contraceptives by:

•Delivering assured services
•Dovetailing with new promotional schemes
•Ensuring commodity security
•Building capacity (service providers)
•Creating enabling environment
•Closely monitoring and resolving implementation bottlenecks.

The scheme has been notified with effect from 10.112016

(c) & (d): Yes, Jansankhya Sthirta Kosh (JSK) is implementing Santushti Scheme for involving private sector for family planning services. It is implemented in the high populated states of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh & Odisha. Under this scheme, JSK invites private sector surgeons to conduct sterilization operations in a Public Private Partnership mode.
(e): Does not arise.
