(a) whether Swarnarekha Chandil Project is lying pending for the last few years;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether huge amount of money has been spent to complete the project; and
(d) if so, the steps taken by the Government to expedite
the proposal and make the project operational?

(a) to (c) The physical progress of construction works of
Subernrekha Chandil Dam is 98% (except for the installation
of gates). An expenditure of Rs. 609.50 crore has been
incurred on Subernrekha Chandil Project (Dam and left bank
canal) up to 3/2000.
(d) Irrigation projects are planned, investigated,
implemented and funded by the State Governments as per their
own priorities.
