Question : VACANT POSTS IN A & N

(a) whether it is fact that more than 4,909 posts of different categories (Group `A`,`B`,`C` and `D`) are lying vacant in different departments under the A&N Administration;

(b) if so, the number of posts for which requisitions have already been placed with the UPSC by A&N administration for notifying the vacancies and recruitment for filling up the Group `A` and `B` posts;

(c) whether there is any proposal to constitute a Service Selection Committee for recruitment to Group `C` and `D` posts by A&N Administration; and

(d) if so, the time by which the vacancies of Group `C` and `D` posts are likely to be filled up?

(c)&(d): Yes, Sir. The proposal is under consideration of the Government. However, it is difficult to specify a firm time frame within which the existing vacancies would be filled up as it in any case depends upon the availability of suitable candidates.
