Question : Sanskrit University at Prayagraj

a) the facilities being provided by the Government in Ganganath Jha Research Institute of Central Sanskrit University at Prayagraj;
b) the number of the teachers employed and the students enrolled in the said institute;
c) whether the Government has any plan for purchasing land and constructing buildings for complex of the institute;
d) if so, the details thereof; and
e) the steps taken or being taken by the Government to extend the complex of the above-said institute keeping in view the requirement of today?

(a) The Ganganath Jha campus at Prayagaraj, Allahabad is one of the 12 campuses of Central Sanskrit University. It is located in a land leased by the State Government of Uttar Pradesh to the erstwhile Ganganath Jha Research Institute. This Institute was taken over by the Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan on 1.4.1971 which is presently called Central Sanskrit University. The Central Sanskrit University is fully funded by the Government of India.
(b to e) There are 6 teachers and 77 regular Ph.D. students in the Ganganath Jha campus and there is no plan for purchase of land for any activities in the near future for this campus.
