(a) to (c) : The Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Government of India has approved the proposal of Government of Maharashtra for modernization of the existing fishing harbour at Sassoon Dock, Mumbai at a total cost of Rs. 9251.53 lakh with 50% central financial assistance under Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) in convergence with Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways under Sagarmala Scheme. The central funds of Rs.2356.44 lakh has been released to the Government of Maharashtra for modernization of the existing fishing harbour at Sassoon Dock. This includes funds of Rs. 1200 lakh released by the Department of Fisheries and Rs. 1156.44 lakh by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways. The Government of Maharashtra has taken up implementation of this project.
Besides, Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying has also accorded approvals for development of another four fishing harbours at a total cost of Rs. 40664.88 lakh in the State as detailed below:
