Question : DIFFERENCE IN AIR TICKET CHARGES

(a) whether the Government noticed the differences in Air Tickets being charged from Gulf countries to various Indian airports which are in equal distance;

(b) if so, the reason therefor;

(c) the airlines operating from Gulf countries to other countries are charging less that what Air India is charging from Gulf countries to Calcutta Sector; and

(d) if so, the reason therefor?

(a), (b), (c) and (d): Since the market fares are dependent not only on distance but also on various factors like competition, air seat capacity available on the route, seasonality etc, there could be variation in the level of fares for the same distance.
