(a) & (b) :The Government of India has implemented National AYUSH Mission (NAM) which envisages better access to AYUSH services, strengthening of AYUSH educational institutions, facilitate the enforcement of quality control of Ayurveda, Siddha and Unani & Homoeopathy (ASU &H) drugs and sustainable availability of ASU & H raw-materials by promotion of medicinal plants cultivation in the States/UTs. The component wise outputs achieved under NAM are as below:-

The details of funds earmarked/allocated/released under the Central Sponsored Scheme, namely NAM during the last three years and current year, State/UT-wise is furnished at Annexure I.
In addition to above, the Ministry also runs Central Sector Schemes for promotion and development of AYUSH system as detailed under:-
(i) International Co-operation: The Ministry of AYUSH also liaises with foreign countries and international bodies to promote AYUSH systems world-wide.
(ii) Information, Education and Communication (IEC) programmes: The Ministry of AYUSH conducts Arogya Melas, conferences, exhibitions, seminars, workshops symposium and also publicity through electronic multimedia, print media campaigning for awareness amongst the citizens all over the country.
(iii) Further, the Ministry of AYUSH also runs schemes namely, Continuing Medical Education(CME) and Centre of Excellence(COE) for encouraging AYUSH personnel to undergo need based professional training and bridge the knowledge gaps; and upgradation of organizations respectively.
The above programmes are Central Sector schemes and implemented directly and not through State Governments. The details of the fund allocated and utilized during last three years & current year for these schemes are at Annexure-II.
(c): Yes. The Government has set up a Central AYUSH vertical in Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) to oversee the enforcement of the provisions of Drugs & Cosmetics Act, 1940 and Rules thereunder and related regulator measures for ASU&H drugs. The creation of posts of Deputy Drugs Controllers (2), Assistant Drugs Controllers (3) and Inspectors (7) for this purpose has been notified and Recruitment Rules for these posts have been forwarded to Department of Personnel and Training.
(d): The Government has recently set-up an All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) at Sarita Vihar, New Delhi. There is no further proposal in Ministry of AYUSH for setting up of an All India Institute of Ayurveda Sciences at present.
(e): The Ministry of AYUSH undertakes various measures to promote India as a global hub of AYUSH. The measures taken are below:
(i) signing of Country to Country Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) on ‘Cooperation in the field of Traditional Medicine’;
(ii) setting up of AYUSH Academic Chairs in Foreign Universities/Institutes;
(iii) signing of MoUs for ‘Undertaking Collaborative Research’ to enhance the acceptability of AYUSH systems at International level;
(iv) setting up of AYUSH Information Cells in the premises of the Indian Missions/ICCR Cultural Centres for dissemination of authentic information;
(v) organization / participation in International exhibitions/conferences/ workshops/ seminars/ road shows/ trade fairs, etc. to create awareness amongst the local population; and
(vi) Providing incentives to AYUSH drug manufacturers/ entrepreneurs/ AYUSH institutions, etc. for:-
a. participating in International exhibitions/ conferences/ workshops/ seminars/ road shows/ trade fairs, etc. for generating awareness amongst the participating public about the AYUSH systems of medicine and;
b. registration of AYUSH products with regulatory authorities of the foreign countries.
