(a) Whether foreign capital has flown into the garment sector after being dereserved;

(b) if so, the details thereof; and

(c) the steps taken by the Government to implement the Plan Schemes `Integrated Apparel Park Scheme` and a `Scheme for development of Central infrastructure in Export Oriented Clusters`?

(a) & (b) As per available information, the inflow of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in textile industry including garment sector during the years 2000-2001 and 2002 (Jan-May) has been as under:

(c) All State Governments / Union Territories have been requested to furnish project proposals in line with the guidelines of Apparel Park for Exports Scheme` and `Textile Centre Infrastructure Development Scheme` for Central Assistance under these Schemes. The Project Approval Committee, constituted under the guidelines, has considered and approved two Apparel Park projects at Tronica City (Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh) and Surat (Gujarat) till date.
