(a) whether the existing lane of National Highway-24 is suitable to cater the daily need of vehicle passage;
(b) the number of vehicles daily used National Highway-24 from Delhi-UP border to Dasna, category-wise;
(c) whether the Government has started development/widening of National Highway-24 from Delhi-UP Border to Dasna stretch;
(d) if so, the details thereof along with the funds released/allocated for the purpose; and
(e) the time by which this project is likely to be completed?

(b) 68,962 Passenger Car Unit (PCUs) per day.
(c) to (e) Taking into consideration the existing traffic volume, the Government has decided to widen the existing National Highway (NH) No. 24 from Delhi/U.P. border to Dasna to 14 Lanes including 6 lane expressway at center as a part of Delhi - Meerut Expressway (DME) project. Tenders have been invited with last date for submission of bids as 15-12-2015 and scheduled for completion in 30 months from the start of the project.
