Question : Cost of Irrigation Equipment under PMKSY

(a) the percentage of unit cost of sprinklers, micro sprinklers, drip equipment and other agriculture equipment being provided by the Government to the farmers of Karnataka under PMKSY; and

(a) & (b): Financial assistance @ 55% for small and marginal farmers and @ 45% for other farmers relating to the cost for installation of Drip and Sprinkler Irrigation systems is available under the Per Drop More Crop component of Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY-PDMC) as per the Operational Guidelines of the Scheme issued by Department of Agriculture, Cooperation & Farmers Welfare (DAC&FW), Govt. of India. The assistance is met by both Central Government and State Government in the ratio of 60:40 for all State, except the North Eastern and Himalayan States in which it is 90:10. For the Union Territories, funding pattern is 100% grant by the Central Government. In addition, some States provide additional incentives/top up subsidy for encouraging farmers to adopt Micro Irrigation.

Government of Karnataka provided 90% subsidy (including top up) of the indicative cost to all the categories of farmers of the State for installation of drip and sprinkler irrigation systems up to 2.00 hectares and 55% subsidy to the Small and Marginal farmers and 45% subsidy to the other farmers for the area more than 2.00 hectares and up to 5.00 hectares during 2018-19.

For the current year (2019-20), the following subsidy pattern has been decided by the State Government of Karnataka:
