Question : INTEGRATED CHILD DEVELOPMENT SERVICES SCHEME



(a) whether some of the State Governments had incurred excess expenditure on Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) scheme in general and training during 1992-1999 while some other States incurred less expenditure;

(b) if so, the action taken/likely to be taken by the Government in this regard;

(c) whether the Ministry did not receive audited expenditure statements from the State Governments; and

(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a)&(b) Yes, Sir. The excess or less expenditure incurred by the State Governments in any financial year is taken into account and adjusted while releasing the grant in the subsequent financial year, having regard to the entitlement of funds of the concerned State.

(c)&(d) Funds under ICDS Scheme are released to the State Governments on the basis of the expenditure statement and utilisation certificate furnished by them.
