Question : Imprest Money in Central Government Hospitals in Delhi

Will the Minister of HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE be pleased to state:

(a) the details of the imprest money available at the disposal of the competent authority in Central Government Hospitals in Delhi particularly Kalawati Saran Children’s Hospital during each of the last three years and the current year;

(b) the utilization of the imprest money for procurement of those life saving/essential medicines which were not available in medical stores of the said hospitals during the said period, Hospital wise;

(c) whether the mortality rate has increased in the said hospitals during the said period in the absence of adequate supply of medicines;

(d) if so, the details thereof and the reasons therefor along with the reaction of the Government thereto;

(e) the number of deaths reported from the said hospitals during the said period, Hospital-wise; and

(f) the corrective steps taken/being taken by the Government in this regard?

(a): The details of the imprest money available with competent authority during each of last three years and current year in respect of Central Government hospitals in Delhi viz. Safdarjung Hospital (SJH), Dr. RML Hospital (RMLH), Smt. Sucheta Kriplani Hospital (SSKH) and Kalawati Saran Children Hospital (KSCH) are given below:
