Question : TRILATERAL VISION TO SOLVE ASIAN ISSUES



(a) whether India, China and Russia have decided for a common vision to solve the whole gamut of issues concerning Asia;

(b) if so, whether External Affairs Ministers of these countries have decided to meet to see how these countries can ensure peace and stability in the region and steps required to be taken to tackle problems like terrorism;

(c) if so, whether all three countries have formed a joint action plan to meet the situation and workout a common vision for all;

(d) if so, whether any concrete action has been taken; and

(e) if so, the details of the same and the extent to which it has been accepted?

(a) No formal decision has been taken by India, China and Russia for a common vision about the whole gamut of issues concerning Asia. However, the three countries have been exchanging views through informal mechanism of an annual dialogue at the level of Foreign Ministers on various international issues as also regional issues, including Asia.

(b) During the third Trilateral Meeting between the Foreign Ministers` of India , Russia and China held in Almaty, Kazakhstan on 21 October 2004, the three sides noted that terrorism should be fought jointly by the international community without adopting double standards.

(c) No joint action plan has been formally adopted between the three countries in this regard.
