(a)&(b) The Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Scheme provides for a package of services which include supplementary nutrition, immunization, health check-up, referral services, nutrition and health education and non- formal education to children below 6 years and pregnant and lactating mothers belonging to disadvantaged section of society. It is a centrally sponsored scheme wherein the Central Government is responsible for programme planning and operating costs and State Governments are responsible for programme implementation and providing supplementary nutrition.
