Answer given by the minister

THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF EXTERNAL AFFAIRS
[GEN. (DR) V. K. SINGH (RETD)]

(a) to (d) India’s policy on West Asia has been guided by our long standing ties with the region and our desire not to interfere in the internal affairs of States and being non-prescriptive. Despite the challenges of the regional flux, our bilateral relations with virtually all countries of the region have been progressing structurally towards safeguarding our core interests. India’s relations with other countries are not premeditated on their political alliances, but rather based on the pursuit of our national interests. India has continuously been working to enhance its relations with all the mentioned countries viz Saudi Arabia, Israel and Iran.
