Question : Vacancies of Principals in Kendriya Vidyalayas

(a) whether it is a fact that many Kendriya Vidyalayas in the country, including KV
in Ongole, Andhra Pradesh, do not have Principals for more than one year
and if so, the details thereof, State/ UT-wise;
(b) whether it has come to the notice of the Government that there are vacancies
of teachers at various levels in KV, Ongole;
(c) if so, the action taken by the Government to fill in the said vacancies,
including Principal, immediately;
(d) the reasons for pendency regarding opening of KV at No. 2 Ongole and at
Rajampalli village of Yerragundlapalem in Prakasam district of Andhra
Pradesh in spite of these being reportedly cleared by KV Regional Office at
Hyderabad; and
(e) by when the said proposal is likely to be cleared and start functioning?

(a) No, Madam. Vacancy of Principal in Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV), Ongole is
vacant with effect from 2.9.2016 only. However 118 KVs do not have Principal for
more than one year. The State / UT-wise detail of KVs, where post of Principal is
lying vacant for more than one year as on 1.6.2017, are annexed.

(b) Yes, Madam. 34 posts of teachers on various levels are lying vacant in KV,
Ongole.

(c) Process of recruitment of 6115 teachers has been completed and final results
are expected by July, 2017. Thereafter, KVS will provide regular teachers on priority
basis against vacancies. The offer of appointment for 84 post of Principal has
already been issued and they are undergoing Induction course at Delhi. On
completion of the course they will be posted against the vacant posts of Principal in
various KVs including KV, Ongole.

(d) The Government of India on 21.03.2017 has sanctioned 50 new Kendriya
Vidyalayas under Civil Sector. These Kendriya Vidyalayas are to be opened under
challenge mode i.e. on “First -cum-first served” basis. In accordance with the
decision of Government of India the orders for opening of the new Kendriya
Vidyalaya are to be issued only after transfer of requisite extent of land in favour of
Kendriya Vidyalaya concerned. In the matter of proposal for opening of new
Kendriya Vidyalayas at KV, No.2 Ongole, District Prakasam and at Rajampalli,
Yerragondpallem, District Prakasam, the requisite extent of land in both the cases
has already been accepted by KVS. However, land transfer formalities have not
been done so far by the state govt.

(e) No definite time frame can be given as the State Government of Andhra
Pradesh has to complete land transfer formalities.
