MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF RURAL DEVELOPMENT
(SHRI RAM KRIPAL YADAV)

(a)&(b): Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, 2005 (MGNREGA), the responsibility for implementation of the Scheme is vested with the States. The Ministry is in constant engagement with the States/ UTs through review meetings, video conferences, Mid Term Review etc. and officers of the Ministry visit to States at regular interval to review implementation of the programme. After the field visits, the findings/shortcomings and recommendations are shared with the States for appropriate action at their end.

(c)&(d): GeoMGNREGA Phase-II has been implemented under MGNREGS, where in geo-tagging is carried out in three stages before initiation of work, during the work and after completion of work for all those works commencing FY 2017-18 onwards. The initiative has enhanced accountability and transparency in MGNREGS. SAKSHAM capacity building and training programme has also been initiated under MGNREGS to train the technical wing of field functionaries, who will directly impact the quality of asset creation in the Gram Panchayats. As on date, 45,513 technical functionaries under MGNREGS have been trained in States/UTs.
