(a) whether the Government proposes to introduce E-20 fuel as automotive fuel;
(b) if so, the salient features thereof; and
(c) the steps taken by the Government to facilitate development of E-20 compliant vehicles as well as adoption of mass emission standards for this fuel?

(a) to (c) Yes, Sir. The Government has notified G.S.R. 156(E) dated 8th March, 2021 regarding mass emission standards for E-20 fuel. Further, the Government has also notified G.S.R. 172(E) dated 11th March, 2021 regarding safety requirements for motor vehicles running on E-20 Fuel and higher blend of ethanol to seek comments from the concerned stakeholders.
