Question : Private Satellite Television Channels

(a) whether the Government has issued an advisory to all private satellite television channels to only use the latest revised political map;

(b) if so, the details thereof and the reasons therefor;

(c) whether the Government has recently organized the Film Bazar on the sidelines of the golden jubilee edition of the International Film Festival of India;

(d) if so, the details thereof;

(e) whether the concerned agencies were specifically advised to use only the political map prepared by the Survey of India and Department of Science and Technology;

(f) if so, the details thereof; and

(g) the follow up steps undertaken by the Government in this regard?

(a) to (g): Ministry of Home Affairs has released the new political map of the country on 2nd November, 2019. This political map has been prepared by Survey of India, Department of Science & Technology, and is available online on their website http://www.surveyofindia.gov.in for free download.

The Central Government has issued an Advisory on 18th November, 2019 to all private satellite TV channels to use only the new political map of India.

Film Bazar, an annual film market, was organized alongside International Film Festival of India (IFFI), Goa from November 20-24, 2019.
