(a) whether the Government proposes to modernise the Government Medical College set up in West Champaran;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) the time by when a super speciality unit in the said medical college is likely to be started; and
(d) if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) to (d): Under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY), upgradation of 6 Government Medical Colleges namely - Srikrishna Medical College, Muzaffarpur; Government Medical College, Darbhanga; Patna Medical College & Hospital, Patna; Government Medical College, Bhagalpur; Government Medical College, Gaya; and Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IGIMS), Patna has been approved under different phases in the State of Bihar. There is no proposal for upgradation of the Government Medical College in West Champaran.
