Question : Purchase of Imported Machines

(a) whether imported machines have been purchased by the South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) since 2008 till date;
(b) if so, the details thereof along with the names, cost and capacity of the said machines;
(c) whether any increase in production was registered after the purchase of these machines and if so, the details thereof;
(d) the number of hours the said machines have been operated per month till date after their procurement;
(e) whether the objectives for purchasing the said machines have been achieved; and
(f) if not, the reasons therefor and the steps taken by the Government in this regard?

(a)&(b): The details of the name of equipment purchased by South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) since 2008 and till date, its cost and capacity are given at Annexure-A.

(c)to(e): These machines are deployed in different mines of SECL and their contribution is included in the total production and there has been continuous enhancement in the overall production of the company over the years. The year wise production is given at Annexure-B and the details of operation of the machines are given at Annexure-C.

(f): In view of above, it is not applicable.
