(a) & (b): Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi has developed a cotton genotype Pusa-2 (Pusa GH 17-52-10). It is an early maturing strain which was evaluated in West Bengal

(Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Nimpith, Sunderbans) during 2004 and recorded seed cotton yield (1.5 t/ha). It has shown good fiber quality with 27-28 mm fiber length and 20 g/tex fiber strength.

(c) & (d): This genotype has been proposed for identification in the state of West Bengal. Further popularization of this genotype will depend on its release, notification as per procedure.
