Answer given by the minister

MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF RAILWAYS (SHRI R. VELU)

(a) & (b): Yes, Sir. A survey for construction of new line from Khalilabad to Balrampur via Uttraula, Bansi & Mehdawal (145.23 Kms) was conducted in the year 1979, but the work could not be taken up due to acute constraints of resources.

(c): No, Sir.

(d): Does not arise.

(e): In view of acute constraints of resources and heavy throwforward of ongoing projects, it would not be feasible to consider the construction of the suggested line at present.
