Question : AMRUT in Maharashtra

(a) the funds allocated, sanctioned and released under AMRUT Scheme to the State of Maharashtra during the last three years, year-wise;

(b) the details of authority assigned with the responsibility to monitor the utilization of these funds; and

(c) the details of the completion status of these schemes, city-wise?

(a). Under Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT), Central Assistance (CA) for implementation of projects have been allocated for the entire Mission period and not year-wise. Under AMRUT, the approved State Annual Action Plans (SAAPs) of the State of Maharashtra, for the entire Mission period, is ?7,759.32 crore, which include committed Central Assistance of ?3,534.08 crore.

The year-wise details of Central funds released to the State of Maharashtra under various components of AMRUT during the last three financial years is as under:

(b). Under AMRUT, States/ Union Territories (UTs) have been empowered to select, appraise, approve and implement the projects under the Mission. Government of India approves the SAAPs recommended by the States/UTs and releases central assistance as per the Mission guidelines. Therefore, utilization of the funds under AMRUT in States /UTsis monitored by the respective State Governments.

Further, an Independent Review and Monitoring Agency (IRMA) has also been appointed by each State/UT which is mandated to provide its report periodically on the implementation of AMRUT projects in the cities.

(c). The city-wise details of projects taken up under AMRUT in the State of Maharashtra is given at the Annexure.
