Answer given by the minister

MINISTER OF WOMEN AND CHILD DEVELOPMENT
(SHRIMATI MANEKA SANJAY GANDHI)

(a) to (c): No, Madam. The proposal of the Government of Odisha regarding the number of instalments for disbursing cash incentives to the beneficiaries under the Indira Gandhi Matritva Sahyog Yojana (IGMSY) has not been agreed to, as it is not in conformity with the guidelines of IGMSY and would also adversely affect the overall objective of the Scheme.

(d) & (e): As per the provision of the National Food Security Act (NFSA), 2013, the Ministry has already revised the entitlement of the maternity benefit under IGMSY from Rs.4,000/- to Rs.6,000/- per beneficiary with effect from 5th July, 2013.
