(a) to (c) The Union Government has launched a scheme `National Mission for Protein Supplements (NMPS)` as a part of Rashtriya Krishi Visas Yojana (RKVY) in the Financial Year i.e., 2011-12 in 22 identified States which has been further extended in 7 more States during 2012-13. The objective of this programme is to increase production of animal protein like milk, meat and fish etc in order to meet rising demand for these products. The salient aspects covered under NMPS and state-wise funds released during 2011-12 and 2012-13 (as on 21.08.2012) are at Annexure-I and Annexure- II respectively.
