Question : Road Accidents Involving Light Four Wheelers

(a) whether a study undertaken by the National Automotive Testing and R&D Infrastructure Project (NATRIP) has revealed that 65% of the victims of road accidents were in light four wheelers and if so, the reaction of the Government thereon;
(b) whether Government has put in place a mandatory recall policy for vehicles that do not meet safety standards, if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor;
(c) the number and types of vehicles recalled by automobile manufacturers on grounds of safety/defects during each of the last three years and the current year; and
(d) the other steps taken/being taken by the Government to protect the interest of passengers/drivers?
