(a) whether the Government has received proposals from some organizations offering better quality early earthquake warning and security system than the pilot project being implemented by Earthquake Engineering Department, IIT, Roorkee and if so, the details thereof;
(b) whether any action has been taken in this regard; and
(c) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) While the efforts of IIT, Roorkee are targeting the early warning system development, a commercial variant of a stand-alone earthquake alarm and security system for buildings/structures has been referred by a vendor recently.
(b-c) Based on the limited literature made available, it is to convey that scientific institutions, that are making all out efforts for knowledge based warning systems development, shall not be in a position to comment on the utility of such commercially offered variants.
