Question : SOCIALLY DESIRABLE PROJECTS



(a) the details and the present status of socially desirable projects announced by the Railways during the last three years and the current year, project-wise;

(b) the present status of new line projects on Wadsa-Gadchiroli, Banspani-Bimlagarh and Badampahar-Kendujhargarh sections;

(c) whether the Railways propose laying of railway lines on Khandwa-Dahod and Krishnaraja Nagar-Kushala Nagar (Karnataka) sections; and

(d) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor?

STATEMENT REFERRED TO IN REPLY TO PARTS (a) TO (d) OF UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 4936 BY SHRI MAKAN SINGH SOLANKI, SHRI MAROTRAO SAINUJI KOWASE, SHRI RAJU SHETTI, SHRI ADAGOORU VISHWANATH AND SHRI YASHBANT N.S. LAGURI TO BE ASNWERED IN LOK SABHA ON 25.04.2013 REGARDING SOCIALLY DESIRABLE PROJECTS

(a): 47 New Line and 9 Gauge Conversion socially desirable projects have been sanctioned and taken up. Project-wise details are Appended.

(b): The present status of Wadsa-Gadchiroli, Banspani-Bimlagarh and Badampahar-Kendujhargarh projects are as given below:-

(i) Wadsa-Gadchiroli –Final Location Survey completed. Estimate preparation taken up.

(ii) Banspani-Bimlagarh – The detailed estimate has been sanctioned. Forestry clearance and land acquisition has been taken up.

(iii) Badampahar-Kendujhargarh – No such project is sanctioned.

(c): No, Madam.

(d): Due to huge throwforward of ongoing projects and limited availability of resources, sanction of these projects is not under consideration at present.
