(a) and(b) Rural sanitation coverage in the country on the launch of Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) [SBM(G)] as on 2.10.2014 was 38.7%. This has now increased to more than 96%.
(c) and (d) The progress underSBM(G) is monitored through anonline Integrated Management Information System (IMIS). The IMIS of SBM(G) is a web-based system. Data on physical and financial progress are entered at district/block level. The system maintains a register of all rural households in the country, along with their sanitation status as recorded in the baseline survey carried out in 2012-2013. The details of households that are being covered with toilets are being entered in this database. A mobile application for uploading photographs of toilets constructed after 2nd October 2014 has also been developed. These photographs are geo-tagged. A mobile app has also been developed to view sanitation status upto village level.
(e) and (f) A third partysurvey conducted by an Independent Verification Agency (IVA) under the World Bank Support Project, in 2017-18 found that 93.2% of households with access to toilets used them.
