(a)&(b): The total quantum of coal extracted in the
country from open cast (OC) and underground (UG) mines
during the last three years is as under:

(c): Productivity in terms of per tonne of raw coal output

(e)&(f): The decision to restart mining operation in a
closed mine is taken by the concerned coal company from
time to time after taking into consideration various
aspects which include mineable reserve, availability of
suitable technology, economic viability, safety etc.
