(a) The vigilance being maintained by the Directorate of Plant Protection,
Quarantine and Storage (DPPQS) to delect any locust built up during the
last three years;
(b) The action taken to control locust; and
(c) The funds sanctioned to DPPQS and utilization thereof during the said

(a) : The Locust Warning Organisation of the Directorate of Plant Protection,
Quarantine and Storage (DPPQS) maintains continuous vigilance on locust
activity in the Scheduled Desert Area (SDA). No significant locust build up
has been reported during the last three years.
(b): Any locust infestation in groups/patches observed during survey is controlled
by ground control operations using micro ULVA and vehicle mounted ULVA MAST
sprayers.
(c) : The funds allotted and utilized under plan and non-plan schemes for locust control
are as under:
