(a) Yes.
(b) The Indian Embassy in Rome on 18 January, 2010 received a letter by post which contained
an Improvised Explosive Device (IED). The envelope had two fuse wires. However, the envelope
did not explode. The senderâs name on the packet was mentioned as LTTE from Italy. The Italian
Foreign Office and local police were immediately informed. A report was filed with the local
police and security at the Embassy was stepped up. Police are investigating the incident.
