(a) whether some defence personnel were arrested for sharing sensitive details on social media and if so, the details thereof including any action taken against such personnel;
(b) whether the Government has issued any advisory of digital do’s and don’ts to defence personnel and their family members;
(c) if so, the details thereof; and
(d) the other steps taken by the Government to check the misuse of sensitive details pertaining to defence services?

(a) During last two years, two personnel each from Army & Air Force were arrested for sharing sensitive information on social media. Air Force personnel have also been dismissed from service.
(b) to (d): Comprehensive advisories on digital do’s and don’ts have been issued to defence personnel and their family members.
Armed Forces have exclusive secure networks which are air-gapped and physically segregated from public networks. Awareness drive on threats from social media and internet are being undertaken to sensitize defence personnel. Cyber security drills are also carried out to validate the capabilities of the designated cyber agencies.
