(a) the details of funds allocated to each State by the Government for opening Primary Health Centres during 2002- 03;
(b) the number of Primary Health Centres opened in each State during the last three years; and
(c) the details of funds proposed to be allocated to each State during the Tenth Five Year Plan for opening more Primary Health Centres?

(a)to(c): Primary Health Centres are established by
respective State Governments, as per their requirement, out
of the over all funds provided to them and physical targets
set by the Planning Commission under the State Sector Health
Outlay. Thus, no separate funds are allocated by the
Government of India for establishing Primary Health Centres.
A statement indicating the number of Primary Health Centres
opened in each State during last three years is given at
Annexure.
