(a) whether the Government is aware of the high rate of tax on vehicle in the country under GST regime;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether the Government has any proposal to exclude/reduce tax on cars/ vehicles under 5 lakh category; and
(d) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) and (b): There has been no increase in the incidence of indirect tax after the introduction of GST on vehicles in the country except hybrid motor vehicles.
(c) and (d): At present there are no proposals for exclusion or reduction of taxes on cars/vehicles under 5 lakh category
