Question : Online Voting Facility

(a) whether the Government proposes to introduce online voting facility in various elections including local body elections in the country particularly in view of the difficulties faced by the Armed Forces and Para Military Force personnel in casting their votes;
(b) if so, the details and the present status thereof; and
(c) if not, the other steps taken/being taken by the Government to resolve the aforesaid problems?

(a) to (b): No, Madam.
(c): In addition to normal modes of voting, a proposal is under consideration of the Government to introduce e-postal ballot system for Armed Forces Personnel and overseas electors which envisagestransmission of blank postal ballot paper electronically and thereafterreturn of the same by the registered post.
