Question : Exit Exam for Medical Graduates

Will the Minister of HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE be pleased to state:

(a) whether the Government proposes to conduct an exit exam for MBBS students passing out of government as well as private medical colleges in the country;

(b) if so, the details and the objective thereof and the manner in which it is likely to be conducted in the country;

(c) whether the Indian Medical Association has expressed reservation against the proposed exit exam for medical graduates; and

(d) if so, the details thereof and the steps taken/proposed by the Government to address the concerns on the matter?

Answer given by the minister

(a): No.
(b) to (d): Does not arise. However, IMA has expressed its concerns against any such proposal.
