(a)the details of the steps taken by the Government to regulate developmental activities on the river fronts and floodplains;
(b)whether there is any proposal to prohibit, restrict as well as regulate certain activities in the river conservation zones in order to conserve and protect river ecosystem in the country; and
(c)if so, the details thereof along with the monitoring mechanism for the said purpose ?

(a)The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC), Government of India has formulated a Draft River Regulation Zone (RRZ) Notification under the provisions of Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 and circulated it to State/UTs Governments/ Administration on 08.01.2016.
(b)The draft RRZ Notification proposes to prohibit, restrict as well as regulate certain activities in the river conservation zones in order to conserve and protect river ecosystem in the country.
(c)The draft RRZ Notification, proposes National River Conservation Zone Authority and State River Conservation Zone Authority to monitor the implementation of various provisions of said Notification and keeping watch on river stretches.
