Question : CLOSURE OF FCL AND HFCL

e :

(a) the number of officers, employees and workers who have lost their jobs on account of the closure of some units of FCL and HFCL;

(b) whether their statutory dues have been paid prior to acceptance of forced VRS;

(c) if so, the facts thereof; and

(d) if not, quantum of dues thereof head-wise?

(a) : Hindustan Fertilizer Corporation Ltd. and Fertilizer Corporation of India Ltd. have 10,593 employees as on 30.9.2002 out of which 10,456 employees have opted for Voluntary Separation Scheme (V.S.S.).

(b) to (d) : The acceptance of applications of employees who have opted for Voluntary Separation Scheme is decided in accordance with the scheme of V.S.S. The terminal dues of the employees are paid on submission of the ‘No Dues Certificate’. In the case of those employees who are retaining the company accommodation, Provident Fund and gratuity is being released immediately and the ex-gratia and leave encashment are paid after vacation of company’s quarters.
