Question : DEVELOPMENT OF HYDERABAD AIRPORT

(a) whether the Airports Authority of India (AAI) has decided to increase the existing runway at the Hyderabad airport to facilitate aircraft for facile and smooth landing and take-off;

(b) if so, the time by which the work on this project is expected to start;

(c) the amount allocated for this purpose during the current year; and

(d) the total cost involved in the extension of runway at Hyderabad airport?

(a) :- Yes, Sir.

(b) :- The work is likely to be awarded during current financial year 2001-2002.

(c) :- The amount allocated for this purpose during the current year is Rs. 1.00 crore which may be increased depending upon the requirement.

(d) :- The rough cost estimate is Rs.74 crores approximately.
