Question : DIVERSION OF TRAFFIC

(a) whether the Government will consider diverting or controlling traffic speed on the National Highway passing through Kaziranga National Park by putting up sensors or speed guns etc;

(b) if so, the details thereof; and

(c) if not, the measures being taken in this regard?

(a) to (c) 315 km of 4 laning of NH-37 between Nagaon to Dibrugarh is included in the Phase `A` of the Special Accelerated Road Development Programme in the North-Eastern Region (SARDP-NE). All the provisions of signages are included in the project and other measures for protection of the environment as per the guidelines of Ministry of Environment and Forest will be followed. At present there is no proposal for diverting the traffic or controlling speed by putting up sensors or speed guns etc.
