(a) whether the benefits of the poverty alleviation schemes launched by the Union Government in States including Gujarat have not been passed on to the rural and urban poor;

(b) if so, the details thereof and if not, reasons therefor; and

(c) the steps taken by the Government in this regard?

MINISTER OF HOUSING & URBAN POVERTY ALLEVIATION(KUMARI SELJA)

(a): Poverty alleviation schemes such as Swarna Jayanti Shahari Rozgar Yojana (SJSRY), Swarnajayanti Gram Swarozgar Yojana (SGSY) and National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS) are being implemented in the country, including the State of Gujarat benefiting the urban and rural poor through generation of self-employment as well as wage employment.

(b)&(c): Based on the reports received from States/UTs, the beneficiaries covered under these schemes in the country as well as in the State of Gujarat, during last three years (i.e. 2006-2007 to 2008-2009), are as under:
