Question : Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan in Telangana

(a) the details of works such as construction of new classrooms, buildings, playgrounds,
toilets, etc., taken up under Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan in Telangana in Secondary and
Senior Secondary Schools since implementation of the scheme, year-wise and districtwise;
(b) whether the targets set have been achieved during the last three years, if so, the
details thereof district-wise, year-wise and component-wise;
(c) whether the Government proposes to make NCC mandatory in all Secondary and
Senior Secondary Schools as per the New Education Policy; and
(d) if not, the reasons thereof?

(a) Details of civil works for science labs, new classrooms, buildings, drinking water,
toilets (girls, boys & CWSN) etc. under Samagra Shiksha in Telangana in Secondary
level since implementation of the scheme i. e. 2018-19 (year-wise and district wise) is
enclosed as Annexure-A.
There are no civil works sanctioned for senior secondary level from 2018-19 to 2021-22.
(b) District-wise and year-wise targets and achievements of civil works sanctioned
under Samagra Shiksha in Telangana for secondary level during the last three years
(2018-2019, 2019-2020& 2020-2021) is enclosed as Annexure-B.
There are no civil works sanctioned for senior secondary level from 2018-19 to 2021-22.
(c) & (d) NCC is entirely a voluntary programme and it is upto the schools to opt for it.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has introduced NCC as an optional
elective subject in classes IX-XII in its curriculum. The schools may opt to offer NCC
after obtaining necessary approval from the Directorate of NCC.
