(a) the policy of the Government in respect of Import/Exports of flowers;

(b) the quantum and value of flowers imported/exported during each of the last three years

(c) whether the Government are contemplating to formulate any new policy to encourage the import and export of flowers;

(d) if so, whether the Government have any proposal to provide infrastructure facilities to the flower industry in the domestic market; and

(e) if so, the details thereof?

(a) Import and Export of flowers are free under the ITC (HS) classification of imports and exports.

(b) The quantum and value of flowers exported/imported during the last three years are as under:-

(c) to (e) Extant Policy provides for grant of assistance to the State Governments for development of export oriented infrastructure, including for flori - exports. In addition, Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) has established cold storage for handling perishable cargo including flowers at New Delhi, Bangalore, Trivandrum, Chennai and Hyderabad. APEDA has also taken steps for setting up cold storage handling facilities at Mumbai as well as Flowers Acution Centres at Bangalore, Mumbai and NOIDA.
