Question : COVID Fund Package

(a) whether the Government has announced a COVID-19 fund package of Rs.23,123 Crores to give support to tackle COVID-19 pandemic in the country;

(b) if so, the details thereof; and

(c) the quantum of funds allocated to the state of Andhra Pradesh; and

(d) the guidelines issued by the Government to utilise the same by States/UTs?

(a) to (d) ECRP-II was approved by the Cabinet with Rs 23,123 crores (with Rs. 15,000 Cr as Central Component & Rs 8,123 Cr as State component) and is implemented from 1st July 2021.

This includes support to State/UT level for ramping up health infrastructure (including pediatric care) with particular focus on rural, tribal and peri-urban areas, providing support for procurement of drugs and diagnostics to enhance service delivery at district and sub district levels for management of COVID-19 cases (including pediatric care), maintaining a buffer of drugs, support for IT Interventions such as implementation of Hospital Management Information System (HMIS), expanding access to tele-consultations in all districts and support for capacity building and training for all aspects of management of COVID-19.

Release of funds under ECRP -II during the FY 2021-22 is as per the approved Centre-State funding under National Health Mission. Funds to the tune of Rs. 417.91 crore has been allocated to Andhra Pradesh as Central share under ECRP-II, of which till 24th November 2021, Rs. 208.96 crore has been released to Government of Andhra Pradesh.
