(a) whether the Government has examined/verified the Action Taken Report of the
Government of Maharashtra on the decision taken by the Resettlement and Rehabilitation
(R&R) Sub-Group of the Narmada Control Authority to consider clearance for further
raising the height of the Sardar Sarovar Dam;
(b) if so, the details and the outcome thereof;
(c) if not, the reasons for delay in the matter; and
(d) the time by which a decision is likely to be taken in the matter?

(a) to (d) The Grievance Redressal Authority, Maharashtra in their opinion dated 8.8.2012
had pointed out certain deficiencies with regard to R&R work in that State. The Government
of Maharashtra has, subsequently, vide their letter dated 17.1.2013 submitted an Action
Taken Report (ATR) in the matter. A Committee has been constituted to verify the ATR to
asses the ground reality. The Committee has been asked to submit its report by 10th May,
2013. A decision in the matter can be taken after receipt of the report of the said
committee.
