Question : CONSTRUCTION OF APARTMENTS IN LAL DORA IN DELHI



(a) whether no norms apply to the apartments being constructed in Lal Dora in Delhi;

(b) if so, the reaction of the Government thereto alongwith the norms laid down in this regard;

(c) the areas of Delhi falling in Lal Dora where apartments have been constructed, as per the norms;

(d) whether the Government are contemplating any action against those officers under whose jurisdiction such apartments were constructed in violation of the norms; and

(e) if so, the details thereof?

(a): No, Sir. The Municipal Corporation of Delhi has reported that the norms/rules apply to the apartments within Lal Dora.

(b): The Ministry of Urban Development & Poverty Alleviation vide letter dated 28.3.2001 has clarified that the moment a village comes in urban area it will not be treated as Lal Dora. It is further clarified therein that zoning regulations of the rural land use would apply in respect of the Lal Dora pertaining to villages falling outside the urban limit.
