Answer given by the minister

MINISTER OF STATE (IC) FOR LABOUR AND EMPLOYMENT
(SHRI SANTOSH KUMAR GANGWAR)

(a): The number of districts where the National Child Labour Project (NCLP) is notified and operational, State-wise is at Annexure-I.
(b) to (e): National Child Labour Project (NCLP) Scheme is implemented by the District Project Societies (DPS) under the chairmanship of the administrative head of the district namely, District Magistrate/Deputy Commissioner/District Collector of the district under administrative control of the State Government. Under the NCLP
Scheme, the DPS at District level are required to conduct the baseline survey to identify child labour. Based on the number of child labour identified and rescued from the survey, Special Training Centres are opened for rehabilitation of the child labour in the age group of 9-14 years.
As per census 2011, there were 43.53 lakh main workers in India in the age group of 5-14 years.

At present the number of Special Training Centers under NCLP Scheme is 2500 (approximately). The number of child labourers rescued and trained in STCs State-wise during the year 2018-19 is at Annexure-II.
