(a) to (c): Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) is a contributory health scheme of Central Government employees and pensioners. CGHS presently covers 72 cities including Delhi/NCR. The scheme provides OPD treatment and medicines to the subscribers/ beneficiaries through Wellness Centres (WCs). With a view to ensuring comprehensive health care facilities to CGHS beneficiaries, CGHS has been empaneling private hospitals, exclusive Eye hospitals / Centers, exclusive Dental Clinics, Cancer Hospitals/units, diagnostic laboratories and imaging centers periodically.
The Government is not planning to set up full-fledged CGHS Hospital(s) anywhere in the country, including Coimbatore.
